Arriving at the venue early the day of our event with a great big smile was DJ LUCO. A month earlier I reached out to DJ LUCO to ask if he would consider donating  his time to DJ at a community event to raise awareness of the ‘Period Poverty’. He asked questions about the event and the anticipated attendees. DJ LUCO  thanked me for offering him the opportunity to support this cause and was  excited about the plans we were making for the event. Throughout the month leading up to the event DJ LUCO remained in contact with me and requested updates about the number of attendees and the age range of the attendees as he prepared to provide the music. We spent time  discussing the program specifics for the evening and the visions for it. 
The day of the event we had the room set up with tables, a dance floor, an area  for the DJ and an area for the speakers and program introductions. As  mentioned, DJ LUCO arrived earlier than anticipated with a great big smile on  his face. He was excited for the event and was looking forward to a wonderful  evening. Guests arriving for the event walked into a room full of music. They were  enjoying being at the venue, and learning about ways to help their community while having an opportunity to dance and be together. We all know that sometimes you need to expect the unexpected. That is  exactly what happened to us. We had tested our in-house mic system earlier  in the day and had our speaker’s area set up for the program and the keynote.  Unfortunately, our mic system failed. DJ LUCO was fully prepared to assist and  pulled out an additional mic and helped us to get our program back on track  utilizing his equipment. DJ LUCO had offered us the opportunity to use his equipment from inception of his accepting to DJ at the event but knowing that  we had our own system we did not want to impose on him. We were certainly  grateful that he was prepared for us to utilize his equipment just in case. His extra preparedness for this possible issue was greatly appreciated and turned  out to be necessary for us to have a successful event. DJ LUCO was well prepared for our 80+ guests who ranged in age from 6 – 90  and played diverse music at an appropriate decibel. Some of the feedback we  received was that the music was diverse enough to appeal to all and was at a  volume that allowed our younger attendees to dance and our older attendees  to sit and converse without screaming over the music. I would absolutely recommend DJ LUCO for your next event. It was a pleasure to work with a personable and professional. I will be reaching out to him again for future events.
